Scotland!!!

We had a wonderful trip so Scotland!!!  Eight people from our church, including my husband, our 14 yr old daughter, and I, went to visit one of our missionaries.  The Lord worked and the missionaries were very encouraged!

We had great weather!!  It was warm and sunny most of the time there!  (Then we came home and it snowed a little the next day!!)  Here's just a few pics (just a few of the 1,197 I took!) that don't even come close to truly showing the beauty of this wonderful country!  But I tried! :D

The coastline as we flew into Aberdeen

Beautiful countryside!

Picturesque town of Macduff

The town of Cullen on North Sea

The ruins of Findlater Castle

Duff House in Banff
(I got to play a 1890's fully restored Bechstein here!!)

Gorgeous scenery everywhere!!

Sand dunes along the North Sea just north of Aberdeen

Loch Ness

Portsoy Harbour... built in the 1700's

Dunnottar Castle in the fog... kinda creepy!

Fyvie Castle

Coastal town of Pennan

St. John's Kirk... built in 1004!!!

How cool is this???  It's Windsor Castle as we flew into London

I saved the best 'til last....

Oh my goodness!!!  There's Nessie!!!  :-)
One of our group made took this.  ;-)

Almost ready to fly!!

Hi all!

I appreciate so much everyone's visits to my blog and all your nice comments!!  I have not posted much this week as we have been getting ready for Scotland!!!!!!!!!  Plus I've been fighting a head cold or sinus infection or both!  We're praying it totally goes away before we get on a plane tomorrow evening!

We'll be gone for 10 days and then I'll be back at it!  ...once I recover from my jet lag!  :-)

Embroidered baby blankets

I made two baby cards in January for for sisters-in-law that had babies a day apart.  I am just now making their blankets, I am ashamed to admit.  They were not difficult or very detailed, I just hadn't sat down at my machine.  Let's hope they hold to the philosophy 'better late than never'!!

They are receiving blanket size in a really soft fleece.

These designs are from Embroidery Library.  I also put each name and birth date along the edge.

New home 'congrats' card

I'm getting this one done at last minute for Cricut Cardz Challenge this week!  I didn't think I was going to get it done, but our company for dinner had to cancel, so I played!

The 'recipe' asked for a house, a touch of lace, and a flourish.

Before I gave the card away, I added a little heart that I think makes it much better!!

What I used:
~ Bazzill cardstock
~ K&Company paper
~ house and shadow from BB cut at 4"
~ flourish from home accents
~ frame from heritage
~ paper lace I've had forever!

Mother's day card

Mother's Day is fast approaching!  My mother won't be with me for Mother's Day, but she will be here later this week... to watch my children while my husband, one daughter, and I (and 5 others from our church) go to Scotland!!!    So I will actually be early with her card this year!

With spring on it's way... though it is VERY slow this year... Fantabulous Cricut's theme for this week is 'April Showers'.... a project with an umbrella or hat.

Over at BBTB2, they are looking for Mother's Day sayings- 'mother' or 'Mother's Day' or 'mom' etc.  They used Mother's Day 2010 which I don't have yet, though I really want it!!!

~ K&company paper
~ EKSuccess ribbon
~ 'M' from Stone Script
~ 'other' from C101 welded
~ frame, hat, and label from Heritage
~ Perfect Paisley Cuttlebug folder

Nice birthday card for my sister

If you saw the 50th b'day card for my sister, you know why I say this one is nice.  But it's not for her... it's for my next sister whose birthday is only a week later.  She'll be 50 next year!  *evil grin*

This will be submitted to...
Stamping 411 - follow the sketch
Birthday Sundaes - anything goes birthday (with birthday wording on front)

The color is not quite right in the pic... it is a little brighter than it looks.

What i used:
~ Bazzill cardstock
~ Perfectly Paisley Cuttlebug folder
~ the Paper Studio flowers
~ Cat's Eye 'dune' ink
~ border punch
~ stamp, brads and ribbon from my stash

Cowboy LO's

Howdy Pardner!!  These LO's were for my son's friend who had his birthday on the weekend.   She gave me the pages and asked for some western LO's.

They are pretty simple.  It is much easier for me to do a LO around the pics, in fact, I NEVER make them first so this was real challenge.  She wanted some ready for pics and some where she could place them as she wished.

All cuts are from Old West.  That is a great cart!!!!

I tried to give lots of options for journaling, too.

They were the Spago pgs from CM, so I didn't use a whole 12x12 pg for many of them.

The patterned paper is all from "All About Boys" stack.  See... I told you I needed more boy paper! :-)

Thanks for stopping by!!!

Cowboy birthday card

Wow!  A post that I am not submitting to a challenge!!

This card is for a friend of my son.  But it is not from us... his mother asked me to make a card for them to give him.  I also made several LO's in a cowboy theme, but don't have the pics yet.  I'll try to post them soon.

What I used:
~ Kraft paper to make a 5x7 card
~ paper from DCWV All About Boys stack
~ cardstock from my stash
~ boot and words from Old West
